Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of another very successful term I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and students for another wonderful term.

Please enjoy this time with your children and families. Take time to relax, play, read and talk with your children.

I look forward to Term 4 and thank you for your continued support.

Sport News

Wheelchair Sports Program

This term in Week 9, St Joseph’s school participated in a Wheelchair Sports Program run by David Johnson from Social Futures.

This was a great opportunity for all of us to experience what it would be like to be a disabled Wheelchair athlete. Students got to play disabled wheelchair basketball. We did this by doing 2 pushes of the wheelchair, then 2 bounces of the ball. Students learned how hard it would be like to be in a wheelchair.

DJ (David Johnson) taught us some important things:

1) Never judge anyone for what they look like on the outside; what matters is how they are on the inside.

2) Always greet people by their name before asking about their disability.

3) Never assume that disabled people have a bad life.

It was a really fun event at our school and everyone enjoyed it.

Thank you Social Futures for visiting us.
