Term 2 Week 4
Dear Parents
This week sees NAPLAN being undertaken by all students in grades 3 and 5. I would ask that you ensure that your child is present and on time over the course of the week. If for any reason your child will be absent please let the school office know as soon as possible so alternate back-up dates can be arranged. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
On behalf of the entire school and parish community, I offer the deepest sympathy to Christine Mulherin and members of her family on the passing of her beloved mother Carmel. Members of staff and myself will represent the school at the funeral this Thursday at 11am in Lismore.
I ask that you keep Christine and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.
I hope all mothers and grandmothers had a great day last Sunday and that they were well and truly pampered. It was great to see so many mums and grandmothers turn out for our school liturgy which was held last Thursday. The scones went down a treat!
Welcoming Encouraging Sorry Thanks (WEST)
Our school and community is a great place to be when we feel welcomed, encouraged, are thanked and apologised to when appropriate.
It is easy to live the WEST way each day!
Welcoming words: Hi, Good Morning, Great to see you, G'day, Good Afternoon, Hello.
Welcoming actions: smile, wave, handshake, high five, fist pump, thumbs up, good eye contact.
Encouragement: amazing, good on you, well done, super job, remarkable, terrific, sensational.
Sorry: I am sorry for, I apologise, (it takes strength of character and humility to admit mistakes).
Thanks: Thank you, I appreciate, I am grateful for, thanks.
The WEST way is the BEST way to live. Be a WESTie today!
